Luck , my friend is like a bar of gold. When I first read this poem by Langston Hughes I was very entertained as the poem was written in a different style, not the one you read that always rhymes or the one which has a basic meaning throughout the poem itself. The following poem is very enjoyable as it has reality not the future.
Sometimes a crumb falls
From the table of joy
Sometimes a bone
Is flung.
To some people
Love is given,
To others
Only heaven.
( Written in exact format and words of Langston Hughes)
Now I could analyze the poem , tell you the meaning of each sentence by picking out parts, and explain the real definition of each piece. Instead I'll tell you what Luck is. It is like a fairy tale that people really believe in (even myself). It is a man-made thing just like time. When you win the lottery out of 1,000 people for a few thousand dollars, it is chance (chance [chans, chahns] Show IPA noun, verb, chanced, chanc·ing, adjective:an opportune or favorable time; opportunity [ CREDIT TO DICTIONARY.COM]). I am not trying to make you hopeless with luck, but just showing a point. The thing with luck is is that if you do end up getting it, you can say that you just met a leprechaun that just slid off the rainbow. Luck also relies on karma... You do bad you get bad, you do good you get good. The good thing about luck is that when luck come is comes with heavy rewards. Like I said luck is a bar of gold.
